| PoA These paintings are reproduction of the weekly American magazine “TV GUIDE”. “TV GUIDE” is the most familiar and affordable mass-circulation magazine and, furthermore, most influential celebrities on the covers certainly reflect the trend of the times in America. During my stay in New York for two years, I had been drawing the cover photos of “TV GUIDE”. The title “PoA” is the abbreviation of “Portrait of America”. “Coffee Break” 068, Weekly “Shukan Kinyobi” 1st June 2006 作品は、アメリカの週刊誌「TV GUIDE」の表紙を描いたものである。 「TV GUIDE」はアメリカにおいて最も身近で安価な大衆雑誌であるとともに、 その時々で最も旬なセレブリティが表紙を飾る、 まさにアメリカの今を映し出す鏡であると言える。 NYに滞在していた2年間、 毎週大量に発刊されては使い捨てられていく「TV GUIDE」の表紙を描き続けた。 タイトル「PoA」は「Portrait of America」の略である。 (週刊金曜日2007年6月1日号より 連載「珈琲破壊」068) |

| NYから帰国以降は“毎週”ではなく、気に入った、気になった（滞在する国の）テレビガイドを絵画化してきた。 そして2000年ぐらいから、デジタル処理した画像をキャンバスにインクジェットプリントしている。 |

| 展示期間にTV放送されている番組の情報が記載されたTVガイドを展示し、TVもつけっぱなしにした。 展示の１ヶ月期間中、毎週交換した。 雑誌は１週間ほど前に販売されるので、ギリギリ制作は間に合った。 2005年NYでの展示風景。 |
