おくだけ


潮が満ちれば水浸しになるという展示場所に69個の「ブルーレットおくだけ」を置き、私の出品作品とした。

後日、企画者から電話があり、釣り人によって「環境破壊」を理由に警察に通報された事を知った。

六甲アイランド一体に全く魚が来なくなったという。

浄化槽を通すとはいえ、毎日大量の「青い水」がトイレから川や海に流され続けている。

言わば、釣り人は、私を通して世界中のトイレを通報したわけである。

OKUDAKE

I exhibited 69 of the ready-made product“OKUDAKE” at the Kobe open-air sculpture show in 2000.

The title of my work is also the name of product itself. In Japanese it means just put.

This shell-shaped“OKUDAKE” is a toilet cleaner that makes toilet water blue, and it common in Japan

.Every night, the tide came in and covered it. Of course, it made the sea water blue. 

During the show, a fisher man called the police, saying my work was causing pollution, and that it should be removed.

Therefore, I ask that all OKUDAKE be removed from Japanese toilets, for the same reason.
